My Beach Experience
Deciding to come to CSULB was the best decision I could have made. Moving to Long Beach opened my eyes to so much about life, like learning to navigate a new city, meeting people from different backgrounds, and finding my own independence. Through my time here, I’ve grown academically, professionally, and most importantly, personally. The friendships I’ve made along the way have been some of the best parts of my college experience. From never-ending sleepovers and movie nights to deep conversations during dinner, I’ve built lifelong connections with people who have supported and inspired me. On the professional side, my involvement in the College of Business Tutoring Center, AMA, and Agency 241 has helped me gain hands-on experience in marketing, student support, and content creation. CSULB has been more than just a school to me, it’s been a place of growth, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. I’m so grateful for the people I’ve met, the opportunities I've had, and the lessons I’ll carry with me long after graduation.
My Path to CSULB
I chose CSULB because of its strong business program, welcoming community, and the opportunities to gain real-world experience. I also wanted to live near the beach, and CSULB’s beautiful campus, with its open green spaces and scenic views, made it feel like the perfect place for me. Coming here, I wanted to challenge myself, step outside my comfort zone, and build meaningful connections while enjoying the nature and peaceful atmosphere that make this campus so special.
Why did you get involved with the myBeach program and CSULB Alumni?
I wanted to share my journey and experiences at CSULB while staying connected with the Beach community. This program is a great way to reflect on my time here and celebrate the achievements of my fellow graduates.
Life after The Beach
After graduation, I hope to pursue a career in student advising, marketing, or public relations, or who knows, I might even become a teacher! No matter where I end up, I want to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
CSULB has become more than just a university to me, it’s been a place of growth, discovery, and unforgettable moments. Moving to Long Beach was a leap into the unknown, but it quickly became a new home. From navigating a new city to meeting people from all walks of life, my time here has shaped me in ways I never expected. I’ve learned the value of hard work, resilience, and stepping outside of my comfort zone.
Every single day has been a chance to do something new and meet new people. My first couple of years living in the dorms allowed me to have access to a vibrant community and forge lifelong friendships. I discovered our amazing SRWC gym and became more committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, finding a great balance between academics, work, and fitness. Going to the Horn Center and the library to get homework done or to study with friends are some of my most memorable moments and truly allowed me to live the full college experience.
Academically, my coursework has challenged and inspired me in so many ways. I learned to think critically, understand the psychology of consumer behavior, and apply real-world marketing strategies through hands-on projects. Whether through my involvement in the College of Business Tutoring Center, AMA, Agency 241, or Beach Media, each experience has contributed to my personal and professional growth, equipping me with the skills and knowledge to thrive in any field I decide to go into.
Beyond academics, CSULB gave me friendships that feel like family, countless late-night conversations, and memories I’ll cherish forever. I’m incredibly grateful for the people who have supported me, the opportunities I’ve had, and the lessons I’ll carry with me. Being featured on our alumni website is an honor, and I’m so proud to be part of the Beach community, now and always!
